Charging the Omega by Lupinicious Charging the Omega by Lupinicious
When a play bow is not a play bow...
Another scene from the shooting in early December. Full view please, this photo is unusually wide :-)
It was hard to decide on how to crop this. I finally decided to crop as little as possible and leave the omega's bum in-frame :D

Another action shot from that day:

EXIF data:
Camera model: Canon EOS-1D X
Lens: EF400mm f/2.8L IS II USM
Exposure: 1/1000 sec; f/2,8; ISO 1000

I really hate wolves, but man, this is a pretty nice shot. You got some strong patience to wait for this shot.

So how long do you suspect it it will take before the omega turns the tables?

Also, do these ever actually hurt the Omega, or just aggravate him?

I really have to compliment you on your amazing ability to capture some extremely unique behaviors of wolves. These are moments most other people miss, that most other people don't even realize are happening. People always talk about their body language, but rarely do you ever see any great examples like these. I really think your photos ought to be published in a NatGeo sometime very soon <3

What I would say to him.
Kill the fucking Alpha! Burry it in the ground. And then DO NOT become the new leader. Walk out on them and leave them disoriented. Let the stupid pack sort it out on its own losing half its members in the process.

I am cool. I am just saying how weak societies (both wolven and human onesalike)really are. If they lose their 'leaders'.

Poor omega wolf... :( But I guess it is necessary for the pack to function. Great shot anyway, I think the decision to crop less was a good one. :)

I've heard that too (not sure the details though). It's sad that it has to be that way...but on the brighter side the wolf packs are good ambasators for their wild relatives. :)
