As the year is preparing to come to an end, the wolves are already getting grumpier. Today was quite spectacular already at Tierpark Sababurg and the were a couple of quarrels going on on all levels of the hierarchy.

The weather was awesome today - not a single cloud in the sky - but this is also the weather that photographers love and hate at the same time, especially in a forest setting like this. The sunny patches are usually too bright and the shadows too dark, so you have to use a fill flash to brighten up the scene. With this photo, unfortunately, the flash had a little to much power so it looks a bit like a studio shot :D It brightened up their eyes nicely tho *g*

Even if it looks like the left wolf (he's the omega of the pack... and such a handsome one too!) is snarling at me, he actually had an argument with the dominant wolf on the right. It was kinda lucky to have them both take their time to look in the camera at that point... so I thought I'd upload it :-)

It looks like the one on the left lost the argument. That expression is wolf for "You're pissing me off. Go away." He's also really hunched over and doesn't look too confident about it.
