Fake Fu Man Chu Beard Puppy by Lupinicious Fake Fu Man Chu Beard Puppy by Lupinicious
This is one of the two puppies at Wildpark Edersee. It was a gamble, but we were lucky with the weather. While it was overcast and cloudy all morning, it suddenly cleared up completely when the park opened at 9am.
And the puppies came out to see what we were up to just 10 minutes after we arrived at the enclosure :D

So here's the first out of a series of puppy photos. These are technically timber wolf puppies... their parents are all black wolves as it seems, but according to PROMBERGER et al., different colors within a litter of puppies are not uncommon.
I guess the puppy thought it'd be cool to have a Dr. Fu Man Chu like beard :D Or it wanted to dress up like a chinese dragon, who knows ;-)

More to follow! Thanks for your support!

Okay, revised the watermark thrice and I guess this should do well enough not too annoy the viewer I hope. :)
I also resized to 800x800 pixels after realizing that 800px is the new maximum width dA will display properly without having to switch to full view mode. Wonder why they changed that, it was 900px before...

Very cute shot! :D and I think the way you put your watermark on there is well decided. :) It isn't in the way to enjoy your photo and it still makes sure no one can steal it, cause you can't just erase it. ^^

This should do to forebode most art thieves.
Hope its not too small though, :/ some art thieves will use photo's as avatar's for RP websites that show a smaller image. I know you have re-sized it a few times already, but if it were mine i'd make the watermark a bit bigger.
However if you've had enough with that, you could just see how this one does, and if any more art theft occur's then you could then make it bigger.

I wish you luck Lupinicious.
They need to make pest repellent for art thieves. XD

oh... I know there are thieves everywhere and you know that they steal my photos too... but please, do not let ruin your photos just by anti-thieves protection :( watermark is fine... but this one is totally brutal

the photo itself is pretty cool, I am happy you saw also some puppies!

I changed it some... how about that?
Might work, too. The difficult thing is that you can't read it in all sizes. *sigh* I think it's impossible to add a watermark that does not harm the photo, but on the other hand that's the point of a watermark... in some way?

better one
I think you will NEVER avoid art-theft, Lupi. If you want me to speak about my style, I add three signatures and watermarks.

1) on a side (woxys.deviantart.com), so everybody can see where the original photo comes from. It is easy to crop it, but the photo is then SMALLER, so I can easily prove that mine shot is original, because it simly does not lack any parts.

2) signature in the corner (Woxys). Just a name of an author - it is easy to remove it or to crop it.

3) signature again - this time blended version (Woxys). In this case, I use blend version of a signature which is place on the main photo subject, so the photo can not be cropped. It is like the signature you used NOW - next to the pup's mouth, so nobody can crop it...

I would advice you to combine those three things. It quite work for me - yes, people post my photos, but since I started this tripple protection, there is usually always some of my signatures left, so one can prove its ownership :D

I think we are using watermarks for different reasons here - I am not using them to prove ownership of my photos... the original photos have a much bigger resolution (21MP) and most are also cropped, so no one will usually ever see the full frame of the photo.
I am using it solely for a signature, to point out the source to people who find the photo on other sites and might be interested in more. Also it is to "void" the free version of the image, especially to make it useless for commercial use.

The idea of tags in three different location sounds interesting though, although I feel this may distract and annoy the viewer even more. But looking at your hoards of watchers and favs, it does not seem to bother people too much :D

in fact we have signatures for the same purpose, I just chose bad words to explain it :D

yeah, I does not bother them - it actually does not ruin the image as much as I was afraid

Well, that one took be 10 seconds to stamp away properly. Honestly, the only solution seems to be not to publish anything on the internet. Or at least not on a site like dA.
