Description
Yesterday, we had a wonderful day at Wildpark Knüll in Hessen, Germany that celebrated a wolf and fairy-tale day. The weather was wonderful, clear blue skies and at times more visitors than we could handle
There were a few calmer periods though that I used to play around with macro photography some more. I never bothered to buy a macro lens because that's a topic I am just slowly getting into and I'm not sure if I want to spend more money on it. So I got myself extension tubes a couple of months ago that you put in between the lens and the sensor, which shifts the focal plane and enlarges the image and dramatically reduces the minimum focusing distance.
So I had some fun with taking photos of the grass around our tent that was wet of dew.
The drops of water in the photo are aligned to a cobweb like pearls on a string I intentionally used a bright flash and low ISO to achieve a high contast. Dunno if anyone likes, but I thought I'd share it - it's something different for a change
New wolfy stuff will follow this weekend.
EXIF data:
Camera model: Canon EOS 1Ds Mk III
Lens: EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM with stacked 36+20+12mm Kenko Extension Tubes
Exposure: 1/250s at f/14
ISO: 320
Focal length: 123.0mm (irrelevant with extension tubes - the magnification is always the same, I use the focal length solely for focusing)
Flash: External E-TTL side flash
Flash exposure control: +1 2/3

This looks brilliantly strange, like the water drops are floating. I love it!
